I am so grateful to God for the ways Westminster ’ s people and teaching shaped me. In times when few churches emphasize serious study of the

church ’ s youngest population for the past 36 years, Vicki Honaker has loved our children in the church nursery for two generations.

Bible, support of cross cultural missions, or faithfulness to Reformed theological distinctives,

“ O, Taste and See ” started in the Fall of 2018, after Julie Hurley had been a part of a short - term missions trip to Uruguay. This monthly gathering to local women has been an intentional outreach ministry of the church.

Westminster stressed them all – and still does! Here ’ s to the next 100 years, should God bless Bluefield, West Virginia – and the world – with Westminster Presbyterian Church.

In March, 2022, Kyle Cook - McCrary joined the Church Staff as Director of Youth Ministry. We are so thankful for Kyle and his ministry among us.

Over the past few weeks, we ’ ve focused on the emergence of three different buildings, the purchase of property for parking lots. Now it ’ s time to talk about more recent history. You know, I bet there ’ s not another church in Bluefield, or maybe anywhere, that has more aerial shots of their property than we do. Oh, how we are indebted to Westminster member and

Westminster has blessed our family with 30 years of memories, friends, fellowship, but mostly God ’ s love and grace … We have rejoiced with our church family in good times and mourned with those hurting. Our hearts are with missions and knew Westminster was the right fit for us … Thank you Westminster for the legacy you have built. To God be the Glory!

wonderful photographer, Mel Grubb, for so many photos that are such an important part of our church archives. Some of you will recall that beside the church, for a number of years, that there were two houses that really needed to be torn down, the Jarret house and the manse, what had more recently been the Youth House.

Before the Youth House, what had been Dr. Pat ’ s manse, was demolished, a beautiful pair of pocket doors was salvaged and incorporated in the new home construction for Julie and Chip Hurley. (Of course, this was done after a donation was made to the church for the doors. ) After the houses were demolished, they were empty lots, useless eyesores, but still technically church property.
