Carter Bank is honored to win the 2024 Associate of the Year Award, a recognition of its dedication to integrity, community service, and support for the building industry. “It is wonderful to have been recognized by our fellow members,” Jason Hardy, Commercial Market Executive with Carter Bank, shares. At its core, Carter Bank operates with honesty, ensuring that its customers, shareholders, and associates can trust its consistent, transparent service. “We believe our value lies in the success of our customers, the strength of our communities, and the trust of those we serve,” Hardy explains. Community involvement is a key part of Carter Bank’s mission. With around 60 associates in the New River Valley, the bank encourages par ticipation in local organizations like the NRVHBA, United Way, and the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. “Our motivation with homebuilders is advocating for citizens’ ability to own homes,” says Har dy. Carter Bank supports homebuyers, builders, and developers, helping to address affordable housing challenges in the region. Since joining the NRVHBA in 2017, Carter Bank has supported commu nity development through loans for homes and land, and by sponsoring events like the LEGO competition. Hardy, a member of the NRVHBA Board of Directors, has been instrumental in leadership roles, including chair of the Membership Committee.

Carter Bank’s commitment to excel lence is evident in the recognition it has received. The bank has been named Best Bank in Southwest Vir ginia by Virginia Living Magazine for three years and received Busi ness of the Year honors from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. “The best compliments we receive are from our customers and peers,” Hardy says. For Carter Bank, recognition is a byproduct of their ongoing commitment to com munity and service in the building industry.
