Project Description

A CIP request of $150,000 is proposed to fund enhancements identified in the Retail Strategies Downtown Action Plan along College Avenue, College Avenue Extension, and Jackson Street. Planned improvements including string lights, sunshades, and uniform fencing are intended to create a more welcoming, cohesive, and accessible environment for residents, visitors, and local businesses. • String Lights: Black, shatterproof LED lights will be installed to enhance ambiance, improve nighttime visibility, and support extended outdoor dining. • Sunshades: Cohesive overhead coverings will provide comfort and visual unity, particularly in areas with limited tree coverage, supporting outdoor dining for multiple businesses. • Uniform Fencing: Town-provided fencing will create safe, consistent outdoor dining enclosures, improve pedestrian flow and aesthetics, and reduce costs for small businesses. Fencing will comply with disability access requirements and be removable by Public Works as needed.
