Project Description

This funding is for the purchase of a garbage compacting truck insert to be used in the downtown area. The Town's contract garage collection service operates four days per week, leaving three days including the weekend, where trash collection is performed by Public Works downtown staff. Public Works staff is required to collect and transport trash from the downtown receptacles using a pick-up truck. The addition of a compacting truck insert will reduce the manual labor involved with trash collection and the associated risk of workplace injury.
