Project Description

This project provides funding for the reconstruction of town streets through the process of Full Depth Reclamation (FDR). FDR will be performed on streets where reconstruction is needed and where normal pavement maintenance activities do not apply. This process will provide recycling and reconstruction of the road base material, but with a cost that is a fraction of traditional road reconstruction. The VDOT Revenue Sharing Program does not always fund pavement maintenance activities that include asphalt pavement overlays. However, this process is considered to be road reconstruction and therefore is eligible for VDOT Revenue Sharing funds.
