The Nutcracker

A Letter From the Artistic Director

Without you, our audience, we would not be able to do what all dancers enjoy the most, expressing themselves with discipled movement, showing emotive performances. We are so grateful to share this fabulous stage in collaboration with Botetourt Music Academy, Angels of Assisi, Chris Coffee and Custard, other non profits represented with participants playing guests in the Party Scene. Personally, I'm so thankful for Robin Schon and Paige Thompson for their continuous support of our company, and many others in their generosity. Southwest Virginia Ballet successfully continues with the commitment of our dancers, their parents, the dedicated board, our devoted volunteers, and again, primarily you, our audience, our community of Southwest Virginia. I've committed to the idea that building a successful organization is to work with your community of talent, to remain humble while reaching every corner of our region's demographic. "Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walks to arrive at its destination full of hope." Maya Angelou Looking forward to having all of you back here at the Berglund Center Performing Art Theatre for Dance EspaƱol, March 22, 2023; then the magical performance of Cinderella, April 1, 2023.

Happy Holidays!!!! Blessings and peace, Mr. Pedro
