Finally, we needed data, so we pulled our IT organization in early for a project to expand our shop floor system. We explained the business case, secured leadership support, and treated them as a partner instead of a service desk. They bought in and accelerated the project. None of this happened because we controlled those functions. It happened because we built trust, used data to frame problems, and created win-wins across the matrix. Each partnership made it easier for the plant to do what matters most: get it in run, keep it in run, and keep it there at target speed. Matrix Pulse Check • Do functions operate in silos, guarding their own turf? • Are KPIs aligned across areas, or are they in open conflict? • Do incentive targets pull people together or drive them apart? • When priorities collide, is there a spirit of win-win, or win-lose?
