In 2014, the CFNRV lauched the GiveLocalNRV Giving Day. Each June, more than 100 nonprofits serving the New River Valley participate in the fundraising event. The Giving Day shines a spotlight on the essential work that nonprofits do each day and demonstrates the power of philanthropy. Fueling the excitement of the day are the awards that the CFNRV and our generous sponsors give out to nonprofit participants. Participants can win these awards by meeting certain fundraising milestones or if their organization is selected in a random chance drawing. Since the event started in 2014, the CFNRV has awarded $174,000+ to Giving Day participants through these grants and prizes.
