A fter more than 30 years of renting, our team was thrilled to buy our own office. This move was the culmination of many years of donors, CFNRV staff, and community members believing in our mission enough to put our organization in the financial position to purchase the office condo. Working with real estate agent Mike Eggleston, we finalized the purchase in spring 2025. Then, we renovated the space with teams from Colley Architects, PC, Kesler Contracting & Property Management, and Alvis-Laing Electric Company and they got to work. In December 2025, we moved into the space, which added significant square footage to our office — leaving room for future growth. This move coincided with a record-setting year of giving to the foundation, with nearly $6 million in new gifts received. This included a $1.83M estate gift that established the Robert J. and Joanne M. Watson Endowment, which will support five agencies with vital annual funding. We also received a $1.75M gift that established the Endowment for Lifelong Learners at Blue Mountain School, an alternative school in Floyd. The fund will support the school’s sliding scale tuition model, making it accessible to all families. Each of these exciting milestones puts the CFNRV in a great position for our future.
