The Community Foundation of the NRV 25-26 Annual Report

Benjamin Eiss Memorial Fund (Norman & Nancy Eiss) Provides scholarships to graduating seniors from NRV high schools with demonstrated financial need. BHS National Honor Society Legacy Scholarship (BHS Chapter of the National Honor Society) Provides scholarships to graduating students from Blacksburg High School with a minimum GPA of 3.2, a strong track record of leadership and service to the school and/or community, and a strong desire to continue that level of service while attending any two- or four-year college or university. Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad Memorial Scholarship Fund Provides scholarships to active members of the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad in good standing with a minimum of one year of service who are pursuing a post-secondary degree to become a Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Paramedic. Blue Collar Scholarship Fund (Family & friends of Kent Quesenberry) Provides scholarships to NRV students to pursue a post-secondary degree. Applicants must be from blue collar families defined as parents or immediate family members working in industries such as, but not limited to, all construction and building trades, maintenance, skilled labor, commercial trucking, automotive repair, and manufacturing workers. Selection criteria include financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Bob & Debbie Riggan Scholarship Fund* Provides scholarships to graduating high school students or community college students who attended Goochland High School, and/or who reside in Goochland County, VA attending Virginia Tech. Preference for those with financial need and/or those who are first generation college students. Casey Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund (Pat Jones & family) Provides scholarships to graduating students from Blacksburg High School with a preference for students pursuing a degree in a health profession. Chris Dudley Scholarship Fund (Jack & Larkin Dudley) Provides scholarships to graduating students from Blacksburg High School (BHS) that demonstrate strong leadership skills and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 with a preference for BHS soccer players. Citizens Scholarship Fund (Citizens Telephone Cooperative) Provides scholarships to students from Floyd County (including students from Floyd County High School, Springhouse, or home-schooled students) pursuing a post-secondary degree. Constance & Horst Moehring Scholarship Fund* (Estate of Constance Moehring) Provides scholarships to students pursuing a degree in science, technology, or engineering at Virginia Tech.
