The Bluestone Review Spring 2022

She is sick of his looks, sick of Talking, past the point of touch, Smelling and tasting his cologne.

His embrace is hopelessly empty, Yet the past knew differently. She knows only one way out.

Their small house reeks of desolation. Passersbys smelled it down the street, Another relationship…drifting away. The taste of freedom fresh in her mouth. She’s compromising only with herself now. Finally taking control while also letting go.
