My Grandfather’s Prayers Joshua Deweese He takes off his hat And folds his coalesced hands He closes his weary eyes And with a humble voice he speaks With his head bowed He thanks God Not just for the day And the many blessings But also just the fact We can call on his name I hear him call out Loved ones and friends in need Always remembers the lost Never forgets the sick Asks for blessings in the church And for works to be done

Doesn’t ask for personal gain Just a closer walk with the lord He always finishes the same way In the precious name of Jesus Many things I have learned From hearing these prayers Sacred memories held so dear

I hope to never lose Listening and loving My grandfathers prayers
