Authors’ Notes Walter Shroyer Art: Brazilian Flag, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic Poetry: The Killer of Love

Walter Shroyer has taught art at Bluefield College for 29 years. He was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and received his B.F.A from the University of Georgia and his M.F.A. from Pennsylvania State University. He loves living in the moun- tains and enjoys hiking having completed the Appalachian Trail 5 years ago. His work is often inspired by nature. Matthew Spireng Poetry: Burdock (for Peter), False Target Matthew J. Spireng’s 2019 Sinclair Prize-winning book Good Work is forth- coming from Evening Street Press. A 10-time Pushcart Prize nominee, he is the author of two other full-length poetry books, What Focus Is and Out of Body, winner of the 2004 Bluestem Poetry Award, and five chapbooks. Taylyn Strange Poetry: Fire, Liquor and You, The Ocean Bluefield College English major and student athlete competitive in softball and cheerleading. I am currently in the process of completing my Masters in Educational Leadership. Debi Swim Poetry: Autumn Meditations, Study in Grey, Thinking of Death Debi Swim writes primarily to prompts. She is a wife, mother, grandmother Poetry: Every Night I Dream of You, Habitat of Longing, Autumnal Cannibalism Alysia Townsley attends Bluefield College and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science.
