Authors’ Notes Delilah O’Haynes Poetry: Heritage

I am from Clintwood, Va., the daughter of a coal miner; I’ve been a teacher/ professor for 42 years. My heritage is mostly Irish and American Indian, which prompted the poem. Linda Hudson Hoagland Prose: That Was Close Linda Hudson Hoagland, a resident of Tazewell, Virginia, has won acclaim for her mystery novels, nonfiction, short stories and poetry. Noah Jennings Drama: Mothboi Poetry: Dodge Noah Jennings is an actor and playwright from Bluefield, West Virginia. He is known for being in many productions with the Bluefield College Theatre De- partment garnering over ten years of acting experience in the process. Mary Jones Prose: Odessa Mary Jones is a senior English and theater major at Bluefield College.
