On This Crisp Fall Morning By Averie Buaron
The wind blew a warm breeze The smell of tea filled the air. The clouds running to the finish line, while the leaves took their time
On this crisp fall morning. The trees bursting with color The chirping of birds sang in perfect harmony The laughter of children filled the streets And the sound of soft chatter echoed On this crisp fall morning. The smell of baked goods overtook the scent of tea The sun shining perfectly on the town Everyone was happy, filled with glee, No frowns, no arguing, and no yelling for me On this crisp fall morning. Hour of Shadows By Dr. Rick Farmer One night in the hour of shadows A Son to His Father did pray “Is there no other cup to drink from? Is there no other way?” Sweat covers His brow as if it were blood Though angels to comfort are there Nothing can conquer the anguish Which covers The Son’s lonely prayer His friends can offer him nothing Exhausted from sorrow they slept While he in the darkness around him Called to his Father and wept. Sudden footsteps replace the deep silence! He is handed his cup through a kiss As all of life lay in His hands This suffering Lamb of Genesis Death fills the hour which follows
