Tim Henry Retires as Director of Development Mr. Tim Henry, OHA’s Director of Development since 2005 (and member of the OHA Faculty since 1988) has announced his retirement from the Development Office. Oak Hill President, Dr. Michael Groves, acknowledged Mr. Henry in May 2022 on Graduation Eve. “Under his leadership and direction OHA has completed several building campaigns, formalized the Annual Fund as a vital component of our school’s advancement, reestablished donor events, and coordinated alumni gatherings.” Mr. Henry shall remain at Oak Hill Academy as the Director of the Lenore Equestrian Program.

Abby Blair Endowed Scholarship Fund

Oak Hill Academy is pleased to announce

the creation of the Abby Blair Scholarship; Abby attended OHA from 2014 to 2016. At the age of 18, Abby died in a house fire in January 2017. The Blair family (parents, Brandon and Suzy; and Abby’s brother, Charlie) have remained in touch

Andy Woods Endowed Scholarship Fund

Oak Hill Academy is honored to partner with Joyce and Thomas Woods with the establishment of the Andy Woods Scholarship. Andy graduated from OHA in 2000. Friends and classmates remember Andy’s ready smile, his talent on the tennis courts,

with the school for the past four years, becoming good friends with School President, Dr. Michael Groves. Each year the Blairs make their way back to the mountains from their home in High Point, North Carolina, touring the OHA campus, walking the school grounds, and visiting Hough Dormitory— where a picture of Abby resides in the lounge. Brandon and Suzy believe strongly in the mission of OHA: “The last few months of Abby’s life were truly the best for her, and that was because of the two years she was a student at Oak Hill Academy.” The school is grateful to partner with the Blair family in such a meaningful way.

and his easy-going spirit. Current school President, Dr. Michael Groves, served as a Social Studies teacher for Andy in 1998. Andy was 37 years old when he passed in October 2019. The scholarship is created in his memory and shall benefit OHA students for generations.
