New Faculty Members Mr. Todd Giszack

Todd Giszack came to OHA after 22 years serving at another boarding school in Virginia. He is deeply committed to helping young people achieve success, and is very thankful to have joined the Oak Hill community. He attended Virginia Tech, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He earned his Master of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in Cur riculum Design and Instruction from Radford University. He has served in a variety of positions in school settings, including 7 years as a classroom teacher, academic department chair, administra tive team member, and many seasons of athletic coaching. Prior to joining the Oak Hill family, he was the Academic Dean at a boarding school. He is married to Katherine (OHA’s new Director of Admission), and they have three sons -- Micah, Jared, and David. Mr. Giszack has a deep apprecia tion for the mission and culture of Oak Hill, and looks forward to many years working alongside of so many wonderful and committed professionals. Mrs. Linda Smith Mrs. Smith joins Oak Hill Academy as an Administrative Assistant in the Academic Office and as Secretary to the Athletic Department. Originally from New York, she came to Mouth of Wilson by way of Connecticut, North Carolina, and Galax, Virginia. Mrs. Smith has a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Mercy College and also attended Pfeiffer College for elementary education. Formerly an Insurance Agent/Consultant in Galax, she left behind a 30+ year career in insurance and is excited to join Oak Hill and finally follow her passion to be involved with the education of our youth. Mrs. Smith and her husband Tom have lived in Mouth of Wilson for 23 years. They have two daughters, Ashley and Carley, and live a short distance from campus on Tom’s family farm. When possible Mrs. Smith enjoys listening to music, reading, kayaking, and going to the beach. She loves being surrounded by the hills, trees, wildlife, and flowers and the abundance of stars we can see in the sky above Mouth of Wilson. Mr. Kevin St. Cyr Mr. Kevin St. Cyr joins Oak Hill Academy as the Resident Manager in Williams-Berry Hall. He graduated from Central Christian College of the Bible with a B.A. in Religious Studies. Mr. St. Cyr was born and raised in Southern California. He enjoys investing his time in developing youth and building relationships. In his free time, he enjoys participating in and watching sports and playing video games. He also loves spending time with his family and two dogs. Mrs. Leslie St. Cyr Mrs. St. Cyr joins Oak Hill Academy as the Spanish teacher. She graduated from Florida Interna tional University with a B.S. in Hospitality Management. She and her husband, Mr. Kevin St. Cyr, reside in Williams-Berry Hall with their 3-year-old son, D’Artagnan. Mrs. St. Cyr was born and raised in Southern California. As her parents are Colombian she speaks both English and Spanish fluently. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, playing board games, photography, being at the beach, and spending time with her family. Both Mr. & Mrs. St. Cyr are excited to be working at OHA, encouraging the youth they encounter every day. Mr. John Tucker Mr. Tucker returns to Oak Hill Academy as a Resident Manager in Ingram Dormitory after joining the school last winter. He graduated from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, in 2017 with majors in Economics and Spanish. While in college, as part of the Bonner Scholars Program, he worked with many nonprofit organizations like Habitat for Humanity and spent a summer teaching English in Costa Rica. As a native of Memphis, Tennessee, Mr. Tucker loves Grizzlies and Tigers basketball as well as Memphis barbecue. He also enjoys hiking at Grayson Highlands State Park, kayaking on the New River, and volunteering with his church family, The Gathering, in Ashe County. He is engaged to his fianceé, Elly, and is excited to be getting married this fall.
