MERIT BADGE PROGRAMS

The following activities are available for boys/girls ages 10-17 interested in improving their health, learning new skills and expanding their work. This is also an introduction to Boy Scouting and starting a journey of earning badge requirements while having fun! Once a Boy Scout submits a “blue card” (provided in each class) to his troop leader, his troop will purchase and award the badge. **Non-Boy Scouts (boys and girls) are also welcome to sign up and learn new skills and topics through these programs as well as experience a part of the Boy Scouting program. *Participants must wearmasks during class. COMMUNICATION – Instructor: Lisa Bass Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 1 Minimum: 3 Maximum: 8 Additional Information: The ways we communicate help our ideas grow and relationships stay strong. Learn the many meth ods of communication, the etiquette and steps in getting your message clearly shared. In-class project will include making a commerical, teaching a skill, making introductions, writing a letter to the editor and a 5-minute speech. This is an Eagle-Re quired Merit Badge. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS – Instructor: Lisa Bass Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 1 Minimum: 3 Maximum: 8

Additional Information: Test your planning skills in the face of unexpected disasters. After all, it is best to be prepared for any thing! Bring aware of your surroundings and practicing drills can be beneficial to your safety and others. This is an Eagle-Re quired Merit Badge. CITIZENSHIP IN THE WORLD – Instructor: Lisa Bass Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 1 Minimum: 3 Maximum: 8

Additional Information: Discover how youth are already citizens of the world. Their success as a world citizen, depends on one's willingness to understand and appreciate the values, traditions, and concerns of people in other countries. This is an Eagle-Required Merit Badge. PERSONAL FITNESS – Instructor: Lisa Bass Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 1 Minimum: 3 Maximum: 8

Additional Information: Personal fitness is an individual effort and desire to be the best one can be. Learn about health and how to be active to feel better about themselves, have more energy, and gain self-confidence in their abilities. Wear exercise clothing and shoes to perform a fitness test and try numerous different training activities.. This is an Eagle-Required Merit Badge.
