COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER John G. Rocovich Jr., JD, LLM

Mr. John G. Rocovich, Jr., is the founder of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Rocovich is an attorney and the Chairman of the law firm Moss & Rocovich Attorneys-at-Law, P.C. in Roanoke. He received his law degree from the University of Richmond and a LLM in Taxation from New York University. Mr. Rocovich has dedicated himself to his alma mater, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and has held countless offices, including Rector of the Board of Visitors, President of the Foundation, and President of the Alumni Association, to assist in the enhancement of that university. A committed statesman,Mr. Rocovichhas servedonnumerous councils and commissions, including the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Higher Education, and he presently serves on the Virginia Growth and Opportunity Board (GO Virginia). He also devotes considerable energy to the Southern Baptist Convention, including past service on the boards of the Education Commission, Southeastern Theological Seminary, and what is now the International Mission Board. Mr. Rocovich has further committed his service to other colleges, Virginia museums, and financial and commercial institutions.
