Master of Arts in Counseling First Graduating Class

“The inaugural class of 2022 was an exceptional cohort of students. One of our program distinctions is the intentionality with which students are selected for each cohort. The faculty consider each member’s strengths and unique contributions to the learning environment. This cohort cultivated relationships with one another, served as consistent encouragers, and when needed, empathetic challengers of one another to ensure each reached their maximum potential. These students were also trailblazers within their field placements. Their rigor, quality, and strong professional counseling identity that sites can expect from BU counseling interns. In addition, each student successfully passed the national Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) and secured gainful employment offers before commencement. The program faculty are immensely proud of the accomplishments from our inaugural cohort and excitedly welcome each graduate as esteemed colleagues in the counseling profession!”

“We are incredibly proud of our inaugural graduating class for the Master of Arts in Counseling Program at Bluefield University. Each graduate exemplifies our program’s mission to develop highly-skilled counselors to excel as community leaders, advocates, and practitioners who foster well-being in their communities. I have no doubt that Joel, Pennie, Kim, Jennifer, and Crystal will continue to embody Christ-centered servant leadership in their work as school and clinical mental health counselors, just as they did throughout their coursework and field experience placements. These students set the bar high and paved a pathway of excellence for future students to follow.”
