Mushroom Supreme
Ingredients : 1 lb. whole mushrooms, slice if too large 1/2 cup hot water 2 tbsps. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup breadcrumbs 1/2 can of cream 2 beef bouillon cubes 1/2 stick butter or margarine Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup to 1 cup Parmesan cheese
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sauté the mushrooms in butter. Dissolve the beef bouillon in water. Melt the butter and in blend the flour. Keep stirring the mixture until thick and add salt and pepper, beef broth and cream. Place mushrooms in greased baking dish. Pour the mixture over the top, sprinkle with parmesan and bake for 30 minutes.
Excellent side dish!

Corn Mush (Good Eating) Smacznegol (Mamaliga) Ingredients: 1 cup Cornmeal (Quaker brand) 3 cups cold water 1/2 stick butter (If fasting use olive oil) 1/2 tsp. salt
Optional: Feta cheese Sour cream
Instructions: Pour cornmeal, salt, water, and butter into an ample sized saucepan over medium high heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until it starts to thicken and boils. Turn heat to low. Cook and stir until the mixture moves around when stirred without sticking to sides of pan. Whole process takes less than 10 minutes. Often served with feta cheese or sour cream as topping. Note: Served as a side dish to entrées in Romania, particularly sausages, fish and Sarmale “cabbage rolls”
