Orange Flan
Ingredients: 1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh orange juice 5 eggs, lightly beaten
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten 2 tbsps. evaporated milk 1 tbsp. rand Marnier OR other Orange Liqueur 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine the sugar and 3 tablespoons of water in a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until the mixture is thick bubbling and amber-colored. Watch carefully to prevent burning. Wash down any sugar crystals that form on the sides of the saucepan with a wet pastry brush. Pour into a 5-cup ring mold and swirl around to coat evenly. Combine the remaining ingredients in a large bowl and whisk until smooth pour the custard into the coated ring. Set the mold in a large baking pan and pour in enough hot water to reach halfway up the sides of the mold. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is firm to the touch. Cool slightly, then refrigerate for 2 hours or until cold. Unmold into a serving dish, slice and serve.

Walnut Cookies
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter 1 1/3 cups flour 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup ground walnuts 1/3 cup sour cream
Optional Ingredients: 2 tsps. vanilla extract or lemon peel (based on tastes and preferences) Instructions: Mix all the ingredients and work the dough until it doesn’t stick to your fingers. Take a small amount (teaspoon), form a U shape or crescent and place on a slightly greased cookie sheet. Repeat until the dough is finished. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes depending on the oven and size of the cookie. After the cookies are baked, roll them in powdered sugar while hot.
