Virginia BCIA would like to thank Mike Jones for his countless contributions and support to the beef industry in Virginia! This year, Mike celebrates his 47 th year as auctioneer for the BCIA Bull Sales in Culpeper and Wytheville! Mike has spent his entire career in livestock marketing. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1973, Mike worked for Angus Topics, Drovers Journal, and Farm Credit before starting his own auction business in early 1980. His first BCIA sale was at the Southwest Bull Test Sale in spring 1980, and Mike has been a fixture as our auctioneer ever since! Mike has announced his retirement following our March 2026 Southwest sale. Virginia BCIA would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Mike for all he has done to help promote and advance the principles of Virginia BCIA and being a great partner in the success of the program! HOW TO PURCHASE BULLS AT THE AUCTION IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND:

1. To Bid via Tel-O-Auction If you will be unable to attend this sale, you can do your own bidding via a conference telephone hook-up. Buyers interested in this option should call the Virginia BCIA at 540-231-9159 prior to sale day. On sale day, until sale time, buyers should call 540-230-2680. You will be assigned a unique bidder number with which to do your bidding. The sale manager can answer any questions you might have about using the telo-auction system. During the sale, bidders should call 800-309-2350. You will be prompted for an ID number – enter 4505514 followed by the # key. You will be asked to state your name and then you should be connected on the conference line. 2. • Find your sale (listed in date order) • If you have an account log in, if not click “ create new user ” After logging in, you are able to view the sale. If planning to bid, register for a buyer number by clicking “register for a buyer number” in the top right-hand corner. Fill out the registration information, and click “ register now ”. You will then be “pending approval”. Once approved, a bidder status approval email will be received and the bidding number will appear in the top right of the sale page. We recommend registering for a buyer number at least 24 hours in advance of an auction. Sale day requests may still be accommodated.
