Dear Friends:
We are excited to host the host the 47th Annual Southwest Virginia BCIA Performance Tested Bull Sale on Saturday, March 28 at noon at the APEX Center in Wytheville. We appreciate the collaboration with Brian and Kayla Umberger at Mountain Spring Farm for their management of the bulls, and their important role in the BCIA program. We invite you to join us at Mountain Spring Farms’ bull development facility outside Wytheville for the Open House which will be held on Sunday, March 22 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. This will be an excellent time to view the bulls and visit with the breeders and every one involved! The beef industry has benefitted from sustained record market prices and continued strong consumer demand over the last couple of years. Projections suggest these trends will continue! To best position your herd for the future, now is the time to invest in high quality, predictable genetics that will position your operation for the years to come. We are proud of the tradition and history of the Southwest BCIA Bull Sale, and the consignors work hard to assemble quality genetics that will do the job for you. We encourage you to closely study the pedigrees, performance, and EPDs on this set of bulls, which our BCIA member breeders have assembled with your needs in mind. The quality runs deep in all the breeds. Buy with confidence knowing that BCIA stands behind these bulls 100% and our guarantee provides assurance on their soundness and fertility. In addition to the bulls, we will offer a high quality set of females through the BCIA-Influenced Heifer Sale. All heifers are certified as Virginia Premium Assured Plus females, and each has met program standards for genetic merit, reproductive soundness, physical correctness, and health status. They sell guaranteed bred to calving ease bulls. For your convenience, the sale will be available online through LiveAuctions.tv. See details contained in this catalog for more information. Complimenting this, video is available on all the bulls which can be accessed on the BCIA website. Please give one of us a call if you need assistance as we would be happy to assist you any way we can to purchase bulls that meet your needs. We will promptly delivery bulls free of charge within 250 miles of Wytheville.
The bulls will be delivered to the sale site in Wytheville on Friday afternoon prior to the sale. Contact any of the consignors, Brian Umberger at 276-620-1194, or myself at 540-231-9159 if we can be of assistance in any way. We hope to see you on Saturday, March 28!
Sincerely,
Scott P. Greiner BCIA Educational Advisor
