Dr. Michelle Avila Vanderburg began her career as an English and Social Studies teacher in California. She has a PhD in Language and Literacy from the Uni- versity of South Carolina. She has worked with K-12 teachers and higher education institutions across the state of South Carolina to develop effective literacy methods. Dr. Vanderburg is currently a Senior Lecturer at Central Queensland University in Australia. Katie Spragg is an accelerated sixth grade English language arts teacher at the STEM Academy in Sa- vannah, Georgia. She graduated from the University of South Carolina, Aiken, honors program in 2017 where she obtained her degree in middle level education, concentrating in English and social studies. Katie has sponsored a local creative writing program and also teaches sixth grade ELA instructional focus. She plans to obtain her Master’s degree in art integration in the near future.

Kristina Flanagan is working towards her early child- hood education degree at the University of South Carolina, Aiken. Her goal is to teach kindergarten in Aiken County. Currently she works for an electrical contracting company but in the past, has successfully managed an after-school program. She is ready for her own classroom so that she can teach and inspire young minds.
