MINUTES OF THE 91 ST ANNUAL RURITAN NATIONAL CONVENTION January 20, 2023 Friday Business Meeting

START TIME: 8:00 a.m. PRESIDING: 2022 National President Glen Broadwater Convention Program Chair, 1999 National President Rick Poff welcomed the attendees to Kingsport, TN. National Director Donna Poulton led the attendees in a verse of “America”. Marshall Ross (Rocky Mt/Durham District Governor) provided the invocation. Convention Chair called 2022 National President Glen Broadwater to the podium, escorted by his grandchildren: Xander Kingery, Brody Kingery, Madeline McKinney and Connor McKinney. Prior to formally opening the business meeting, Rick Poff presented President Glen Broadwater his official gong and gavel. President Glen Broadwater (Chair) called upon Debi Davis, Chair of the Registration and Credentials Committee, to give a report. Committee Chair Debi reported as of Friday, January 20, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. there were Pre-Registered 375 Walk-Ins 10 Cancellations 8 Total Registered No Shows Certified Delegates 364 Alternates The Chair restated the motion and asked the delegates if there was any discussion. Hearing none, the Chair asked all those in favor of adopting the Credentials Report to say “Aye”, opposed “No”. The Chair declared the “Ayes” have it and declared the motion adopted. The Chair called upon Convention Program Chair Rick who presented President Glen with a copy of the Program. Rick confirmed that all registered attendees have received a printed copy of the Program. He noted that if Program is approved, the business meeting agendas along with Standing Rules of the National Convention would be adopted. Convention Chair Rick: By the direction of the convention committee, I move for the adoption of the convention program. The Chair restated the motion and asked the delegates if there was any discussion. Hearing none, the Chair asked all those in favor to say “Aye”, opposed “No”. He declared the “Ayes” prevailed and the motion was adopted. Chair Debi: On behalf of the Credentials Committee, I move for the adoption of this preliminary report.
