Return to the Land

David Stafford and Clara Watson Miller At the time of their marriage, 1923 Quite a handsome couple

Life again was good for Stafford. He had a steady job, an automobile, and a supportive loving wife. They were frugal and saved their money and soon Kathleen , my mother’s younger sister, would join them in the summers for visits and for vacation trips. Kathleen became an integral part of their lives and was treated as their own child. There were no plans for children at this time in their lives so Kathleen filled the void. In mother’s scrap books there are many photos of this trio on trips when this young sister, in her early teens, gave them great companionship.
