Dr. Britt has been involved in elementary pre-service education at Athens State University in Alabama, Eastern Kentucky University, and Winthrop University in South Carolina. Kavin Ming is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the M.Ed. in Literacy Program at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. She teaches undergraduate literacy methods courses and graduate content area literacy and practicum courses. Kavin’s research interests include at-risk student populations, culturally responsive pedagogy, content area literacy instruction, and multisensory teaching of literacy skills. She received her B.A. fromWinthrop University in Elementary Education and her M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina in Language and Literacy with a concentration in English Language Learners. Samantha has spent years visiting elementary classrooms across South Carolina specifically observing classroom reading cultures, student reading behaviors, disciplinary literacy, and guided reading instruction.
