Each investigation is to be thoroughly documented; all documents are to be kept secured at the level the investigation was conducted (Club, District, National records); with a complete copy forwarded to the National Office. Retaliation Prohibited: RURITAN NATIONAL expressly prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports discrimination or harassment or assists in investigating such charges. Any form of retaliation is considered a direct violation of this policy and, like discrimination or harassment itself, may be subject to appropriate disciplinary action. Disciplinary Action: Disciplinary action at RURITAN NATIONAL is intended to fairly and impartially correct behavior early on and to prevent recurrence. RURITAN NATIONAL reserves the right to administer disciplinary action at its discretion and based upon the circumstances.
Ethics Policy for Ruritan Members and Paid Personnel
• Uphold the highest legal, ethical, moral and professional standards and behavior • Recognize that the chief function is to always serve the best interests of our stakeholders, constituents, members, and clubs • Commit to upholding and implementing policies adopted by the board • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations and conduct business in accordance with the letter and spirit of all relevant laws • Serve with respect, concern, courtesy, and responsiveness in carrying out the organization’s mission • Respect the structure, authority, and responsibilities of the board of directors • Demonstrate the highest standards of personal integrity, truthfulness, honesty, and fortitude in carrying out the functions of the organization • Treat with respect and consideration all persons, regardless of race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, or national origin • Respect and protect confidential or otherwise privileged personal information including but not limited to the information within any Ruritan System • Strive for personal and professional excellence and encourage the professional development of others Failure to maintain the spirit and or practice of the above ethic policy will result in disciplinary action from reprimand to termination of membership/employment as determined by the Governing Body 1 upon review of case presented.
