RULES & REGULATIONS

FARM, GARDEN, AND HOME EXHIBITS • All exhibits entered must be produced or owned in Patrick County or the surrounding counties by the exhibitor. • Junior age group consists of exhibitors enrolled in school in grades K-12. • Unless otherwise noted, entrants are classified as adult in-county, adult out-of-county, and junior in county or out-of-county. • All items must have been made or produced within the last year. • Only one (1) item may be entered per class (per entry number) by each exhibitor. • The largest category is being reinstated for the following seven (7) specific items: cornstalk, tobacco leaf, sunflower head, pumpkin, watermelon, tomato, and sweet potato. • Exhibitor must provide accurate and current mailing address and phone number to fair officials processing entries. • No viewing of exhibits allowed during judging. • The decision of the judges will be final. • All exhibits must remain on display for the full duration of the fair. • Canned food should be in a standard clear glass jar. • Each baked item must have recipe attached to the entry. No items prepared from mixes are permitted. • All photography entered must be produced or owned in Patrick County or the surrounding counties by the exhibitor. • Entrants must be amateur photographers who earn less than half of their income from photography • Junior age group consists of exhibitors enrolled in school in grades K-12. • Unless otherwise noted, entrants are classified as adult in-county, adult out-of-county, and junior in-county or out-of-county. • All photos must have been taken on or after January 1, 2023 • Any photo entered in any previous fair cannot be re-entered in this year’s fair. • A maximum of seven (7) entries are allowed per person with a maximum of one entry per class. PHOTOGRAPHY

• Exhibitor must provide accurate and current mailing address and phone number to fair officials processing entries. • Photos are not to be digitally manipulated except in the “Digital Manipulation” class. • Prints may be made from either home or commercial printers. • Prints must be 8” x 10” in size and mounted in an 11” x 14” matte. • Mats must be white in color. • NO frames are allowed. • Items of an offensive, controversial or objectionable nature or subject matter will not be allowed as determined by Stuart Rotary officials and appointed judges. • Photographs of children must be that of the entrant • Baked items must be placed in a plastic bag and on a plate for display. • Contestants should only enter ½ cake, pie, or loaf of bread. • All clothing exhibits must be submitted on a hanger. • Entries will be accepted on Saturday (September 7, 2024) AND Sunday (September 8, 2024) immediately prior to fair week from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart, Virginia • Judging will take place on Monday of the fair week. • Entries must be removed on Sunday immediately following last day of fair (Sunday, September 15, 2024) from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Ticket stubs will be required. • Winning entries may pick up checks when picking up entries on Sunday immediately following last day of fair (Sunday, September 17, 2023). Any checks not picked up at the designated time will be mailed. • Any items not picked up on Sunday immediately following last day of fair will be retained for 30 days before being discarded. • All checks must be cashed by December 31, 2024. • Officers of the fair are not responsible for damage or loss that may occur to the exhibits although all possible precautions will be taken.
