STUART ROTARY STUDENT LOAN & SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION, INC.
FOUNDATION PURPOSE • Created in 1968 • Purpose was to receive donations of money and property in order to award loans and scholarships to enable Patrick County graduates to pursue their education beyond high school • Funds managed by Board of Directors STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM • Established in 1976 • 319 scholarships awarded totaling $ 265,450 • Applications may be obtained from PCHS guidance department • 24 scholarships totaling $ 41,500 awarded to graduating class of 2021 FIRST GENERATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM • Initiated in 2019 • Provides a $ 2,000 scholarship annually for a maximum of 4 years (totaling $ 8,000) or until a bachelor’s degree is received • Applicants must be the first individual in his/ her family to attend college. • In addition to an extensive application and interview process, recipients had to • (1) commit to maintain an acceptable college GPA and outstanding discipline record, • (2) participate in and attend certain Rotary meetings and events, • (3) perform an annual minimum of sixteen (16) hours of community service. • (4) be assigned to a mentor from the Stuart Rotary Club who will guide, advise, and assist students through their college experiences.

Clark, Jr., Director DONATIONS • Accepted from businesses or individuals • Any donation amount accepted • Donations are tax deductible • Individuals may contribute any amount to be added to any existing named scholarships • Minimum donation for a named scholarship is $ 5,500 • For donation of $ 5,500 or more, written contract completed between donor and Foundation • Donations of $ 5,500 or more may establish ⋅ Named scholarship ⋅ Criteria for recipient selections ⋅ Methods for investment of donated funds
