CLUB: Member of Ararat Club in the Dan River District. Served as President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Served on all the club committees. First joined Ruritan in 1983 through the rising Senior Program. DISTRICT: Dan River District Zone 1 Governor. NATIONAL: Attended the National Convention in 2022 and the Summer Leadership Conference in 2022. I am a Tom Downing Fellow; a Ruritan Forever; and a President’s Golden Key holder. EDUCATION: Mount Airy Senior High School; Surry Community College where I received an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering; Surry Community College where I received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice; Gardner Webb University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. OCCUPATION: Raised on a family Tobacco Farm; worked in a textile mill; worked on a power line crew and as a HVAC service technician. 12 years in Law Enforcement from Patrol to Chief of Police. Built and managed “Rabbit Ridge” a gun shop and shooting range for 22 years until selling the business in 2021. Currently I am the Magistrate in Surry County NC. OTHER: Believer in Jesus Christ. Life member of Renfro Masonic Lodge Mt. Airy NC and on the Board of Directors for Mount Airy Masonic Properties; Life member of NRA; NRA certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Personal Protection in the Home Instructor and certified Range Safety Officer; NC Criminal Justice Certified instructor for Concealed Carry Handgun Training. My Ruritan motto is “Our door is open, Help us in helping others”.
