POVERTY IMPACTS FOOD ACCESS

Poverty and food insecurity are intrinsically linked as poor households often lack the resources required to access sufficient nutritious food to live an active and healthy life . Poverty , based on income and family size , are also the factors used to determine eligibility for many federal , state , and community - based food assistance programs . THE NRV EXPERIENCES A HIGHER POVERTY RATE THANĀ  VIRGINIA'S AVERAGE OF 10.8%
