Overlooking the beautiful New River, this backyard transformation turned a difficult, uneven space into a serene outdoor retreat. The design focuses on natural elements that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, offering both beauty and function. The project faced challenges, including steep grades and limited space, but these were overcome with creative solutions. Natural stone elements play a central role in the design, with a flagstone pool deck, retaining wall, and stone steps that harmonize with the area’s natural features. These stone features not only add visual interest but also help manage the landscape’s challenging grade, creating smooth transitions across the backyard. A standout feature of the retreat is the custom waterfall cascading into the pool. The sound of falling water enhances the atmosphere, offering a peaceful, natural melody that echoes the beauty of the river below. Whether in the daylight or evening, when the soft glow of outdoor lighting illuminates the space, the waterfall becomes the focal point, contributing to the overall tranquility of the area. Outdoor lighting was carefully placed to enhance key features and create a warm, inviting ambiance once the sun sets. This subtle yet

effective design choice makes the space feel like an extension of the home, perfect for both relaxation and entertaining. In addition, existing deck steps were reconfigured to seamlessly integrate into the new design, ensuring smooth flow throughout the space.
