This speculative home project was an exciting opportunity, combining modern farmhouse design with a thoughtful approach to its surroundings. The interior designers created a warm and inviting space that complements the home’s clean, modern exterior. All design work was done in-house, ensuring a smooth process from concept to construction. Located on a challenging in-fill lot in Blacksburg, the property’s steep grade and elevation differences with neighboring homes required careful planning. Focus was placed on window placement, architecture, and finishes to make sure the home fit seamlessly into the streetscape and respected the existing neighborhood. Building a large, two-story home on a crawl space foundation in such a premium location presented its challenges. The result is a beautiful home that balances modern living with the neighborhood’s character.
