president in 2000. Mann, an office services specialist in word processing and a gradu ate of NRCC, was hired full time in 2004. She had worked part time since 1993 in the Word Processing Center. Six months after retirement, Mann returned to the college as a part-time support staff member in word pro cessing and the nursing program. Ratcliff, administrative assistant/program planner in Workforce Development, joined NRCC’s staff in 1982. On December 16, 2017, college faculty and staff were saddened to learn that Nancy Evans had passed away. Nancy was an excellent marketing teacher and served as advisor to Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), the col legiate division of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), for many years. 2018 • Miriam (Mia) A. related training and WorkKeys, was hired at the end of 1998; Shelton, English professor, was hired in 2004 and ended her career at the college as dean of arts and sciences. Shenk, library specialist for cataloging/interlibrary loans, began employment in 1985 and served the college for 33 years. Taylor, a public relations specialist, was hired in 1986; Thomason, professor of engineering, joined the faculty in 2002; and Troxel, assistant professor of nursing, was hired in 2005. 2019 • Gary W. Bryant • Luther J. (Jackie) Clyburn, Jr. • Amy J. H. Hall • Candace (Candy) J. Mady • Alisa C. Mercer Bryant, library specialist for circulation, was employed in 1985 and served the college for 34 years. Clyburn, master electrician in facilities services, joined the staff in 1998; Hall, associate director of ASLP, emergency coordinator officer, Title IX coordinator, and an NRCC graduate, was hired in 1987. Mady, coordinator of eLearning support and services, was hired as a full-time employee in 1986. In addition to 32 years of full-time service, Mady has taught part-time for the Division of Business and Technologies for the past 51 years (since 1974). Mercer, an instructional center technician in the distance education office and a graduate of NRCC, was hired in 1989. The college family was sad to learn of Gary Bryant’s unexpected passing on May 19, 2022. Gary shared his love of comic books by coordinating annual ComicCon events and was a quiet, helpful presence at the circulation counter in the library for many years.

practical nursing, was hired in 1992. Haga, an administrative assistant in Workforce Development and an NRCC graduate, was hired in 1978 and served the college for 40 years. Ridpath, associate professor of administrative support technology, began her teaching career at NRCC in 1974. She taught for 44 years until her retirement two months after her 80 th birthday.
