Coal Miner’s Heritage Trail Loop and Pocket Park Where a mining tipple, hotel, general store and residential housing for coal miners once stood is now an open greenspace and a wooden bridge leading guests into the park, the old mining entrance and some of the remnants of the old mining community. Christiansburg Huckleberry Park Featuring four, full-sized rectangular fields striped for football, soccer and lacrosse, this park is the perfect place for tournaments. In additon, the park also has a splash pad, an dog park, playground, challenge course, pavilions and nearly 2 miles of paved walking trails. Blacksburg Rotary Mountain Skills Bike Park This park offers an off-road experience for bikers in a controlled environment, making it the perfect place to hone your skills or try something new! Amenities include shelters along with the biking trails Eastern Montgomery Park Offering a half mile of trail along the South Fork of the Roanoke River as well as an access point to launch your kayak or canoe, this park is a must when you’re visiting Montgomery County. It also features a playground, picnic shelter, volleyball net and open green spaces to fulfill all your picnic needs! Mid County Park Located on 89 acres, Mid County Park hosts the Golden Hills Disc Golf Course, Mid County Activity Center and the Frog Pond Swimming Pool, as well as picnic shelters, walking trails and more!
