Requirements Activities • Capture top-level or parent source requirements • Provide traceability from the source document to the parent originating requirements • Capture various source requirement attributes: – Source document paragraph title, paragraph number, and origin – Capture requirement type such as composite, constraint, functional, performance, test, or verification • Decompose composite source requirements, be careful not to change the requirements’ meaning • Provide traceability from each parent requirement to its children • Prefer hierarchy organization but flat file organization of requirements is acceptable
