System Context

The system context identifies the physical context (the environment and external systems your system interacts with) enabling you to specify the system boundary.

Certification Authority An external service for certifying the Geospatial Library's customers.

C.2

Collectors

An external system responsible for acquiring data to support customer information requests that do not already reside in the inventory. There are multiple collectors of different types and capabilities. An external system that makes imagery product requests and receives the corresponding imagery products from the system. This Geospatial Library accepts requests for imagery information, determines the best way for the system to respond to the request, and then provides the requested information. In the process of acquiring the requested information, the systemmay generate tasking orders for a set of imagery data collectors.

Defining Our Context-Level Connections

The physical system context is both composition and connection. We developed the composition using the BDD. We must define the connections to complete the physical system context. 1. If you viewed the BDD in the project explorer, click the “Physical Block” tab 2. If you opened the BDD as a separate window, click on “System Context” and select Physical Block from the Views ribbon The diagram reflects the composition we defined using the BDD. We can now add the connections between our system and the external systems.
