Understanding Ports – Full and Proxy
Ports are “connection surfaces” for an object
• Full Port – a structural feature of a component that specifies the boundary to the component and the features associated with the port • Full Ports can have nested Full Ports or Proxy Ports • Proxy Port – defines the boundary on a component by specifying which features of the owning component are visible through the external connector • Port Definition – describes the set of behavioral features related to the full port
