Daneell Moore is an Assistant Professor at Middle Georgia State University. She received a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture Education from Vanderbilt University. Her research interests focus on African American culture and how embodied, cultural, and literacy practices can be used as tools to promote student engagement and deep learning in formal learning environments. She teaches literacy courses to teacher candidates in the elementary and special education undergraduate program and to graduate interns in the Master of Arts in Teaching program. Sophia Tarkhan is an Associate Principal at Cooper Carry. She received her Master of Architecture from the University of Florida. She currently practices in the K-12 studio, focusing on elementary, middle, and high school environments. Her personal passion is the celebration and inclusion of Black boys in the learning-scape.
