Launch International 2025 South Africa Field Guide

Before our first team meeting after we arrive, please CAREFULLY read pages 4-6 and answer the questions after each section.

campus guidelines

Be a considerate and thoughtful team member. Think of others . We are a team. Any bad decisions or behavior on campus could impact the entire group. Be conservative of resources . Electricity and water have a very high cost. Large teams strain these resources. Whether you are eating a meal at the base or hanging out in the common areas, clean up after yourself . Keep your personal space tidy. Be on time for ALL team gatherings/meetings/departures. Don’t make the team wait on you. This includes devotions and breakfast. Since we share a base with others you are expected to respect quiet hours (stay in your room and don’t be loud). NOTE: Each day starts EARLY with team devotions. Make sure you are getting enough rest at night. THINGS WE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO SAY...BUT WE ARE... Men should not be alone in a bedroom with a woman (and vice versa). Use common areas on campus for conversations, not dorm rooms. Maintain healthy boundaries (hands to self, personal space). No romantic involvement. No inappropriate innuendo, suggestive conversation or actions. Follow dress code. Ask if you aren’t sure. Address concerns in a Christian manner (going to your brother/sister first or by getting a team LEADER). Your base camp is your home away from home. You are free to roam the campus without restriction. Keep in mind, this is not only where you’ll stay during your trip, but it’s also home to others. Please demonstrate respect and care for the property.

List ways we can been viewed by others (like our mission partners or team mates) as being a thoughtful and considerate team member.

What could happen if you talk about a conflict between you and someone else on the team with a non-involved team member instead of involving the team leader?

At our final meeting, we reviewed FETCH. What does FETCH stand for and which one do you think may be the hardest to maintain on this trip?
