Over Toggle Over toggle is a standard feature on Pascor Atlantic disconnects. This alerts the operator that the switch is fully open or closed and helps maintain the switch blade in the desired position. Over Toggle is achieved during the operation of the disconnect switch when the operating crank on the rotor bearing rotates past dead center, or > 180°. This “snapping” action secures the switch blade in the open or closed position. Pascor Atlantic recommends 5° of travel past dead center in both the open and closed positions to obtain over toggle. Locking the blade open with the over toggle for example, when done properly will prevent wind loads inadvertently closing the disconnect switch blade. The amount of over travel or toggle can be adjusted based on switch type and mounting location. Refer to Installation Bulletins supplied with each Pascor Atlantic disconnect switch for adjustment options. Over toggle is another safety feature on Pascor Atlantic disconnect switches that gives the operator peace of mind. The “snapping” action lets the operator know that the switch is fully open or closed and will remain in that position, until the operator forces the linkage to travel back across the 180° point. In this arrangement the switch control linkage cannot operate without the authorized activity of personnel cleared to perform the operation.
