Our Wetlands offer even more opportunities for wildlife experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Eastern box turtles and snappers coexist, as do tree frogs and bullfrogs. Coots share the water with mallards while whitetail deer sip from the shore as cuckoos and warblers provide the soundtrack. Look closely and you may find an eastern mud salamander or two. Wet- lands Estonoa is a Virginia wildlife preserve and a state Birding and Wildlife Trail.
