Goodwill Excel Center

Excel Center The Excel Center ® is a free, public school that provides adults the opportunity to earn a state recognized high school diploma and begin post-secondary education. In addition to a high school diploma, students earn industry-recognized certificates and/or college credits all at no cost. Goodwill Industries of the Valleys vision is to eliminate poverty by empowering individuals, strengthening families, and inspiring communities. The Excel Center ® can move the needle on poverty in the Roanoke Valley. Research conducted by Ball State University, Indiana University and the University of Notre Dame yielded the following findings which demonstrate the pathway to prosperity through The Excel Center ®.

The Excel Center ® in Northwest Roanoke will provide the resources necessary for students to achieve these outcomes. Those resources include flexible employment, onsite childcare, a small business development center, access to banking, and a health clinic. These resources and many other services are designed to support students and their families as individuals get their high school diploma and complete training for in-demand occupations.
