Master of Ceremonies for the Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge

Karen McNew McGuire is a Senior Consultant in the department of marketing and communications at Carilion Clinic.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Virginia Tech and spent 20 years reporting and anchoring a variety of news- casts.  Karen has received several awards including a National Capi- tal Chesapeake Bay Emmy award for news anchoring. Most recent- ly, she won an Award of Excellence this year from The Mid-Atlantic Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development for her content marketing work related to Carilion Clinic’s NICU services.  A native of Blacksburg, Karen lives at Smith Mountain Lake with her husband, Matt, and their rescued Westie named Daisy.
