Drawing Out The Word

1. To the Regions Beyond

Scripture:

Acts 1:8; 16:1-34

Hymn:

"Tell It Again"

Meditation: Our mission field is ever before us as we seek to tell the good news of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. Acts 16 reminds us that we should reach out to…  The Regions Beyond our Doorstep (Acts 16:1-5) Our family should be our first concern as we see that our own household is nurtured in the saving Gospel of Christ by our word and deed. We must actively seek to win and disciple those nearest and dearest to our hearts. The Lord has placed us, by birth, in a mission field.  … Beyond our Property Line (Acts 16:6-24) Our friends and acquaintances, work-mates and classmates, clerks and service providers all need to hear and see the Word of Truth. When we walk across our property line, drive onto the public streets or pass the threshold of another's business, we serve as "ambassadors for Christ" (II Corinthians 5:20).  … Beyond our Control (Acts 16:25-34) Without murmuring and complaining, Paul and Silas gladly proclaimed the glorious light of Christ from the Philippian jail cell . They were in circumstances beyond their control , yet that only took them into another region for mission work. So, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, in whatever state you may be--witness for Christ!

To the regions beyond I must go, I must go, Till the world, all the world, His salvation shall know!
