22. The True Patriot's Vow

Meditation: The greatest asset of a nation is having the blessing of the Almighty God upon it. God's love and concern is focused on individual people. It is through those people that He channels blessing. Thus, the greatest gift that a man, woman, boy or girl can bring to their country is a heart in which God is the Lord. By paying our vows to the Most High, we give the greatest honor to patriotism. How can we make God the ruler of our heart?

 By Acknowledging God 's Ultimate Authority. (Psalm 33:8-11; John 1:10)

 By Trusting Christ as Personal Savior. (Psalm 33:12; John 1:11-13)

 By Loyally Serving and Obeying God's Word. (Psalm 33:13-22; Psalm 50:23)

We, too, would bring our treasures to offer to the King;

We'll bring Him hearts that love Him; We'll bring Him thankful praise, And young souls meekly striving To walk in holy ways:

And these are gifts that even The poorest child may bring.
