Product Data Sheet Style MMSS059MATXXX Stainless Steel ACOUSTICAL Heatshield Composites Revised: Sept. 24, 2018R00

ACOUSTICAL insulated or plain Stainless-Steel Heatshields: Durable dimpled, perforated, 309 (high temperature) Stainless-Steel sheeting with high performance basalt, Treo®, silica, or ultrathin glass mat as an acoustical absorber and insulator. Perfect choice for corrosion resistance in frequent cycling high temperature up to 1850F. The dimpled pattern ensures easier formation around radial surfaces, adds rigidity, improves heat reflection. To ease installation, a double-sided tape, or Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) is an option. The PSA applied to the insulation side has a 38 mm increment pre-cut removable release liner exposing the adhesive surface. More permanent mechanical fasteners are recommended for higher temperature applications.

Base Metal

1.5 mm as dimpled 309 Stainless Steel sheet (available w/wo mat)

Constructions with Mat 1) Basalt mat- 5mm, best choice for 1200F temperature and chemical resistance.

2) Treo®, 7mm, superior thermal properties to 1800F. 3) Maxsil® 2000°F silica mat, many thicknesses available. 4) Ultrathin mat, 3.2mm, excellent for tight fit tolerances. 5) Available with pre-cut PSA adhesive.

6) Optimal fully encapsulated with the dimpled reflective metal both sides. 7) Mechanical attachment such as grommets, rivets, springs, etc. easily added. 8) Many other sizes available upon request. Custom stamped parts also available.

Thermal Performance: At 12mm distance or more from heat source, a 200-300F temperature reduction is typically achieved from the heat source surface temperature to the cold side of the insulation mat. Note, final results can be changed by mat selection, mat thickness and use of foil on both sides. Please note that adhesive systems used to attached foil to mat, and the PSA option on the mat have thermal resistance to a nominal 400F. If exceeding this temperature, a more permanent attachment such as rivets, grommets etc. is recommended.

PSA liner is precut in 38mm wide increments to allow easy peel up and pull away of release liner from adhesive layer.

Micro-perforations for sound absorption.
