Maxsil ® -Tex Silica Tapes are woven from amorphous silica filament yarn with service up to 2000°F / 1100°C. Because the yarn is then texturized into a bulky form, it provides maximum insulating value. Maxsil ® -Tex Silica Tapes are not made from leached glass tape, resulting in a longer lasting, more flexible tape at 2000°F. Maxsil ® -Tex Silica Tapes are manufactured to target thickness whereas leached silica tapes are 25-30% thinner than specification. Maxsil ® -Tex Silica Tapes have virtually no shrinkage at service temperatures, while leached silica tapes will shrink up to 15% and become brittle. Choosing Maxsil Silica means the longest lasting performance and flexibility up to 2000°F.
